      This is a Chinese popular TV show called “Day Day Up”. It plays on every

 weekend. There are seven hosts at this TV show. Every time, they will invite 

 some famous people, like: actors, actress, and famous person who is from the

 internet. Every time when I see this show, it makes me feel happy because the

 hosts sometimes talk some jokes. “Day Day Up” shows a lot of Chinese pop culture,

 like: clothing. This is a great TV show in China.

       Chicago Cultural Center is located at 78E.Washington ST. Also, it closes

 

 to the Millennium Park. Chicago Culture Center is special architectural style of

 

 building. There are a lot of art activities. Therefore, a lot of people go to

 

 there everyday. It opened in 1897. This is a first free cultural center in

 

 America. It is a most popular place in Chicago. From the recording message, and

 

 the information. Chicago culture Center is a really nice place to visit. Because

 

 it’s a place witch can prove Chicago's high culture and history. People can see

 

 and feel a lot of things from this nice place.

     In Custom-Made, I know that the same foods are different in some places. 

 

For different places have different cultures, so same stores put 

 

native culture into the food or something else. For example: In Germanic McDonald, 

 

it sells beer. The most interesting thing is popular American food-Chocolate 

 

Chip Cookie Dough. It is very new for me because we need cookie dough to make

 

cookie in my country. However, In America, we also just eat it, we would not

 

cook it. As a result, I am very interested in cookie dough.

Movie

            

    The movie is Slumdog Millionaire. The story developing happens in Mumbai. Jamal was

 

growing in Slum dog, and he joins a very interesting show called Millionaire. When he papers

 

 to answer the last question and win 20 million rupees, he is catching by polices. Polices doubt 

 

Jamal to cheat in the show.  Polices use many brute ways to let him answer how he cheats. When

 

 Jamal tells polices this question all his experiences and introduces the story, polices are surprising

 

 about that. Finally, polices make a decision let him join the show and answer the last question.

         My favorite song is Unrestrained and far-ranging. It is a Cantonese song. 

The original band of the song is Beyond.Beyond is very famous in China, and

it is also my favorite band. However, this band dissolved in 2005, but their

songs are still effecting a lot of Chinese. My favorite type of music is rock

and roll because I think it makes me feel so high.

 

Reading

       

   “Home at Last” made me think about something in a different way. When I 

was done reading this essay, it gave me a feeling of being alone. I think if

I don't live in Chinatown, and I just live in strange place. There are different

cultures,different languages. Maybe it makes me crazy. As a result, a community

is an important thing. It gives us an attributive feeling.

      Dragon Boat Festival is one of the three largest festivals in China. It involves few

 activities, such as dragon boat racing , eating rice dumpling . This festival roots in a

 legend.Qu Yuan, a scholar and advisor to the emperor of the Chu Kingdom, jumped

 into the Mei Lo (Mi Luo) River in despair and protest against government corruption. 

Local fishermen convene raced out in their boats to save him. They beat drums and 

pounded their paddles on the river's waters and threw rice dumplings wrapped in silk

 into the river to distract the water dragons and keep them from eating from Qu Yuan's 

body. Dragon boating evolved from the re-enactment of this legend at annual festivals. 

The roots of dragon boat racing derive over 2,000 years to the southern region of China. 

Dragon boat racing is one of the earliest known forms of boat racing and is celebrated at 

festivals and races throughout the world. Right now, the dragon boat racing has been a very

distinctive activities in this festival.
